August Book

Thanks for leading the discussion on our July book, Cat! I know there are more of you who read it than have had a chance to post comments. Feel free to continue with that discussion as we move on to August!

Alright, the time has come to choose our next book. Please leave a comment with your 2 book suggestions for the month. We will hold the drawing on August 1.

Remember Me - Mary Higgins Clark

I enjoy some of her books and this one I thought was good, it has a lot of twists and turns.

Great Expectations - Charles Dickens

It's always a good classic, I love the story.

Villette by Charlotte Bronte. They say it's even better than Jane Eyre, and it has autobiographical elements.

Still working out my second choice.

Okay, I think I've suggested both of these books before - but I'm going to suggest them again:

"I capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith

"The Mutiny on the Bounty," by William Bligh, Edward Christian, and R. D. Madison

My second book is We Were the Mulvaneys by Joyce Carol Oates.

I haven't had a chance to post on the July book yet but I do have a book suggestion if it's not too late.

Cane River by Lalita Tademy

I just read it and cant wait to order her second one. It's technically a fiction but based on the author's ancestors who were slaves. It's such an amazing novel. I don't rmember the last time I read a 500 page book in one day! My poor husband didn't get breakfast, lunch or dinner that day!
