Reading lists and Recommendations

So.... what is everyone reading? (besides our current book) And would you recommend it?

Here's my list:
Louis L'Amour's "The Skyliners" - I would recommend if you like reading about the old west. More about the people and adventures than romance, too (for those of you Zane Grey fans.)

Mary Stewart's "Thunder on the Right" - I would recommend this for a quick mystery that's fun to read because you feel transported to France. And you can't go wrong with a twisted, wanna-be nun.

I just read a quick Louis L'Amour book to. North to the Rails. It was a good quick read and I am hooked on this author. I am also starting Three Cups of Tea and have today to finish it. Yikes!! ( I have to return it to a friend before I head to Idaho for a vacation and wedding.) I am hoping to start the Twilight series in Idaho, but am tempted to wait until the fourth book is done. I don't like to start a series that I can't finish. I did that with Inkheart and still haven't gotten the last book. Harry Potter was suspense enough! hee hee

I am finally reading Northanger Abby by Jane Austen and obviously would recommend it since we discussed it.
Also, I have just started rereading the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. I can't wait to reread them all, seeing the movie trailers has gotten me excited to reread the books and all.
I was reading Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell, but sadly had to return it to the library since someone else has it requested too. It's over 1000 pages, so I may have to end up buying that one. It's a wonderful read, especially if you live in the south...

I am in the middle of Wicked, by Greggory MaGuire. It is interesting so far. I realized that although the story is interesting, I really don't like the author at all. It is better than Mirror, Mirror though.

I just realized that most of the books I have read recently were pretty dark in their mood. I am ready for something uplifting, fun, and maybe even romantic. Something light. Any ideas?

The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted: And Other Small Acts of Liberation
by Elizabeth Berg

a recommendation for Lisa

I love short story books and uplifting stories, I don't know how available this is if you use to library...but something like Chicken Soup for the women's soul is great too and there are tons

Lisa, I hear you on needing something fun everyonce in a while. I have been enjoying reading some Mary Stewart mysteries lately. Have you read any of hers? They're pretty fun, short and usually have a sweet romance involved, too.

Of course, I would also always recommend anything by Lucy Maud Montgomery when you need something purely positive. I know we read "Emily of New Moon" for our other book club - you should read more in that series. I love the love story of Emily and Teddy and Emily and Dean Priest.
