Book selection system

So I was just wondering how everyone wanted to continue selecting books. Here are a few ideas I had:

1. Stick with the "pick from a jar" system, where everyone submits an idea and we pick monthly.

2. Volunteer for a month

3. Assign a regular, rotating schedule.

What do you think?

i thought we were doing the rotating thing? I like knowing a couple months ahead. that's just me

I thought I'd throw it out there since we reached the end of our "announced" rotation and someone had asked me about it. But either way, should we assign people months or share what books we want to read and then assign? My own opinion is that if we give people a month, we might get more participation from folks who want to be involved, but aren't as much for whatever reasons. And they would have to tell us what books they want to read just as far in advance as we did it this last rotation.

I'm good either way. If no one else is up for it, I'll take February. I would take votes on an Austen book, Memoirs of Jane Austin by Syrie James, or
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

I like a rotating schedule, where at a quarter a time we pick randomly drawn books and assign someone to then lead the discussion. That's my thoughts, but I'm fine either way...

I think it would be nice to assign months and then have each person pick the book for their month. But I really like knowing the books in advance, and so people wil need to let us know in advance. Really, whatever is good, just as long as we have the books picked :).

Oh, and do you still have the ideas we submitted from a while back, just for some inspiration?
