Ella discussion...

I'm ashamed to say that I am going off of memory with these questions. Life is a bit on the crazy side right now, so I will post my answers and some more questions by Friday, but I wanted to get the ball rolling. Feel free to add to the question fun!

What did you think of the writing style and concept of this book?

Who was your favorite character?

Did you enjoy the resolve to the book?

I read the book last week, and have already forgotten the name of the characters, darn it. I have read two books since then, which is what has me confused. I really loved the book though.

What did you think of the writing style and concept of this book?

I have decided, that although books written in letter form are a little slower to stat, I love how they show parts of each character that you would otherwise miss. And I thought that the concept of this book was so unique and fun. It makes you appreciate the alphabet :).

Who was your favorite character?
I can't remember her name, but it was the cousin who wrote the threatening note to the council :).

Did you enjoy the resolve to the book?

I did enjoy how it all came together in the end, especially how relieved the council seemed to be to have their own reign of terror come to and end, as things had gotten completely out of hand. I especially loved how the sentence that ended it all was just an accident.

Seriously, I love this book. I love the use of language in it. It's fun to read. I don't know the meaning of all the words, nor will I look them all up, but like Anne of Green Gables, it makes me want to write letter and speak with a larger vocabulary... I really enjoy the letter to letter style in a book. It's unique and invites me in. I agree with Lisa. It gives you an insight into the characters that you don't get in the average narrative style books. Besides it's fun to read a new style for a change...

Characters... I love the different relationships between characters. I think though the cousins are my favorites. Together. I don't know that I could take one as a favorite without the other. I also like the different rebel characters who stand up to the LEB's ie William in the beginning and Rory the Grocer. Of course no story is complete without a love interest. I love the love of Amos and Gwennette. They all work together so well.

I think the ending is great. No spoilers here, but I love the resolve. It just is and that's what makes it so fun...

Happy reading my friends.
