That is hard for me, because really, for me it depends on the genre. If we are going for adult fiction, I really love Jane Austen, Robert Jordan, . . . okay so I was about to make a huge list anyway. I like too many authors :).
PS. I just found a new author that I am really happy about - Stephanie Meyer. I just read 2 of her books and loved them :).
Jane Austen hands down. She's classic and funny and has wonderful social commentary on her day. Plus, it's really timeless.
